All their clothing is made locally in their own production studio in India. They work with local artisans who use traditional craft techniques to make handspun or handwoven fabrics. The fabrics are dyed in facilities that have waste water management. They use azo-free and natural dyes or completely undyed fabric
They use GOTS organic cotton, Econyl (recycled fishing nets), recycled denim, Tencel, linen, silk, Modal, Lycra & Khadi (handspun and handwoven Indian fabric made from natural fibers, like cotton or silk). They use undyed fabric as much as possible
They collaborate directly with rural artisans or partner with vetted local NGOs to ensure they benefit instead of middlemen. They claim their team earns fair wages
They have a program where you can buy & sell preloved garments from The Summer House. Currently it’s only available in India
