They produce limited quantities, and most is made locally within a few miles from their office. They also produce in India. They offset their emissions with Carbonfund.org, and this partnership supports renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects globally. They use low-impact dyes and recycled water during the production process. They trace their footprint from farm to finish through GreenStory. You can find these metrics on the website, and they also list all their factories on the website
Whimsy + Row uses certified organic cotton, linen, TENCEL™, Lenzing Modal™, Cupro, ECOVERO™ VISCOSE, VISCOSE LENZING™, baby alpaca from ethical farms in Peru, cashmere from ethical farms in Mongolia, and deadstock/upcycled fabric
All their factories are listed on the website with information about the company size, wages and benefits. Most of their clothing is made locally in Los Angeles, meaning they can visit the factories weekly to ensure fair wages are given and the workers are being treated fairly
To avoid overproduction, they have a waitlist feature on the website so they know how much to make of each product. They turn leftover scraps of material into new pieces of clothing, or small things like bandanas, bucket hats and scrunchies. They also launched their own re-sale website, Wear it Again Whimsy, in partnership with Treet.co. They cut out unnecessary plastic waste by personally picking up items from the nearby factory when they’re finished (instead of having them packaged and sent), and they use 100% recycled materials from Eco-Enclose for shipping
