They choose materials that can be recycled at the end of life, such as Lyocell, recycled cotton and organic cotton
New Optimist garments are made by a small diverse team in an atelier in Amsterdam where they organize workshops so you can see their making process
Their garments are made following circular design principles (no waste or pollution, durable garments, usage of recycled materials and guarantee garment recyclability). They offer a free repair service. New Optimist also uses a deposit refund system. Each item of clothing has a QR code that allows you to follow the entire life cycle of the garment up to recycling. When you purchase a garment, a small deposit amount will be charged which will be refunded when you return the item when you no longer want it (just like with glass and plastic bottles). New Optimist will make sure your garment is recycled or given a second life
