Their products are made in Europe and some are made in 1 country (which minimises their carbon footprint). They use compostable packaging made from plant-based materials and they digitally print the fabrics (requires less water). They have a sustainable attribute filter on their website which shows what they’ve done with each garment. The ‘Field to Final’ filter means they traced the garments’ full production chain
They use: GOTS certified organic cotton, wool from sheep that are ‘non-mulesed’ (not harmful for the sheep), sustainable denim, TENCEL™ Lyocell, recycled fabrics and a very small percentage of leather (by-product of the meat industry). They try to use materials in their raw state to avoid adding unnecessary chemicals and dyes
They claim they have a great relationship with all of their socially responsible factories and visit them on a regular basis to monitor the process
They give instructions on how to take care of your clothes and prolong the life-cycle. They use their leftover fabrics and deadstock to make new designs, and they use recycled fabrics. You can resell your preloved Mother of Pearl pieces via Curate & Rotate’s consignment service and via Vestiaire Collective. You can also rent Mother of Pearl pieces on the rental platform Onloan
