All Luna + Sun clothing is made locally in Brisbane, Australia. They only produce small batches, and their fabrics and dyes comply with the Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex®. They use a 100% carbon neutral shipping service, and they partner with One Tree Planted. This means you are given the option to plant a tree with your purchase for $1 extra. For every tree planted by their customers, Luna + Sun also plant a tree. They provide details about their fabric suppliers and where the fabrics are from
The fabrics they use are made from organic cotton and linen with the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification. They also use a biodegradable elastic made from cotton and natural rubber
Their manufacturer in Australia is accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia to ensure that workers are paid appropriately, receive their minimum legal entitlements and are working in safe conditions
They offer a Take Back program so you can send back any Luna + Sun items. If the items can no longer be worn, mended, swapped or upcycled, they send them to their partner Upparel for recycling. They partner with AirRobe and Rntr, allowing you to rent or resell the garments. Their fabric waste is made into smaller items like scrunchies, or it is donated to The Social Studio. For packaging, they use tote bags made from linen, satchels made from 100% compostable materials, and swing tags made from recycled paper
