How To Re-create The ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot Outfits Sustainably – Part 1

6 outfits worn by Audrey Hope in Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl defined an entire generation and had a big influence on the fashion of the 2010s. What the characters wore played a huge role in the teen drama, and Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen are still seen as true fashion icons. Two years ago, it was announced the hit series would be coming back with a new cast. Both the original and the reboot, have the same costume designer, which can only result in new iconic and influential fashion to inspire the new generation. It’s been around nine years since the last episode aired, so obviously the fashion has changed. The outfits in the reboot fit the current trends and the main characters each have their own style. Do you want to recreate their most iconic looks so far, without having a big impact on the earth? Continue reading to see some similar pieces from sustainable brands, so you can start dressing like an Upper East Sider.

In this post, we’re looking at six looks from Audrey Hope, played by Emily Alyn Lind. This is part 1 of a 5 part series. Stay tuned for the looks from four other main characters: Julien Calloway, Luna La, Zoya Lott and Monet de Haan.

Audrey Hope

Audrey Hope’s style is all about layering spencers, oversized cardigans and sweaters over a classic white button-up shirt and black tights or formal trousers. And, don’t forget a little ribbon or bow around the collar. As for shoes, she likes wearing heeled loafers and tight chic boots.

Browse Your Own Closet

First of all, the most sustainable (and cheapest) way of recreating outfits is of course by being creative with items you already own. You can also thrift if you don’t own anything that fits the style. In the case of Audrey Hope, you can even sneak into your boyfriend’s or dad’s closet to find a sweater and pair it with a white button-up shirt and some heels with socks. As for colours, opt for white, black and dark blue. If you can gather some items in that colour scheme, you’re already halfway there! Below are some looks I put together with things I already had in my closet (and most of the pieces were thrifted, except for the tights, bag and some of the shoes)

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but some people are way more excited for the event that takes place a month before: Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
