6 Reasons to Still Avoid Shopping at SHEIN (2026 Update)
On 1 August 2022, exactly four years ago today, I published an article listing 6 reasons you shouldn’t shop at SHEIN. It quickly became my most-read article and, judging by the many comments and messages I’ve received since then, it’s a topic that still sparks a lot of discussion. In those four years, SHEIN has continued to grow into one of the world’s largest fashion retailers. At the same time, the company has faced increasing scrutiny from journalists, researchers, governments and NGOs over its environmental impact, labour practices, business model and transparency. So now I’m starting this post with a simple question: has anything changed after four years?
