I have to be honest, I never looked into plus size fashion, so I didn’t know how difficult it actually is to find it. I went into this thinking I would just quickly list a few brands who have some nice options for curvy and plus-size women. Turns out, I didn’t have much to choose from. Most sustainable brands stop at size XL, so I can imagine why this would hold you back from shopping sustainably if you have a size bigger. But, there are brands that do offer bigger sizes, and they aren’t any less stylish. In this post, you will find 10 sustainable brands who offer sizes above XL.

At the time of writing this post, there are 83 brands featured on this website. My rough estimate is that around 20% of these brands offer sizes above XL. I can’t completely blame the other brands though. Sustainable brands are often much smaller than fast-fashion brands. A lot of them are run by small teams and have small production quantities. Adding more sizes and having another batch produced per size is quite expensive for a small business. Especially if you don’t know if you’ll be able to sell all of them.

Luckily, there are still a lot of brands that are size-inclusive, so let’s focus on them. Scroll down to see 10 brands – listed in no particular order. I chose 2 items to show per brand, but they have a lot more options, so be sure to check the brands’ websites for more.

The first one is Canadian brand ‘alder’, who makes outdoor recreation apparel for women. Their sizes start at XS and go up to 6XL! The ‘get dirty dress’ is available in four colours and the ‘take a hike shorts’ in six. You’ll have enough room to bring essentials on your hike, because both items have between 4 and 8 pockets. The 20 Best Sustainable Alternatives To Levi’s Jeans

Levi’s is one of the oldest and most well-known denim companies in the world. Usually when I find sustainable alternatives and compare brands, I’m talking about polluting and problematic fast-fashion brands.
